Obesity Caused by Anxiety
BMC Medicine has reported that scientists in the UK has followed 10-year old children in 1970 into adulthood. They found a link between anxiety, depression, and weight gain. The children who felt worried and anxious were more likely to become obese. Girls were way more affected than boys.
It is crucial to address emotional issues at a young age. Children need support and help before it gets critical. Furthermore, obesity bears a high risk of further diseases such as diabetis and heart diseases.
Instead of just focusing on healthier food, parents and schools need to also focus on the mental state and emotions of the kids.

Comments on Obesity Caused by Anxiety
Makes sense. Disturbed children are more likely to comfort eat.
I am only 12 I usually suffer from anxiety, and depression. This causes me to want to eat and eat. I found this out when I was 10, when I started to notice. Theres always something that has upset me or made me nervous. I have been over weight all my life, I knew what I had when my mom told me what she suffered from after her mother died. This keeps me from doing things with my friends, I would never give this awful will to give up to anyone.
